HOW TO: Downloading Database Content

If you are working in one of OU Libraries' databases or Library OneSearch, you can download database content directly from its catalog record. Explore this guide to find detailed instructions for performing this action in OU's major databases.

EBSCOhost: Downloading database content

For a list of available EBSCO databases, click here.

Navigate to the EBSCO database you'd like to use. You may need to log in with your institutional credentials to access the database.

In this example, we're using Academic Search Complete.

Enter your search terms and/or keywords into the search bar and select a specific field (if necessary). Click Search.

Review the list of records generated by the catalog in response to your keyword search. Items that are may be physically available only will be marked with a Get It @ OU Libraries (blue box). To learn how to obtain these items, click here to view our Using Get It @ OU Libraries guide.

Items that are immediately available for download will be marked with a PDF Full Text notation (red box). Click this notation.

You will be redirected to a new page where the PDF version of the item in question is displayed. Click on the Download icon to download a copy of the item.

That's it! A PDF copy of the item will be downloaded to your device. Be sure to save the item after the download process is complete.
