How do you find full-text articles? Use GET IT!

Using GET IT @ OU Libraries to Find Full-Text Articles

The GET IT@OU Libraries function connect you to the library’s electronic journal collections.

Here's an example: This article is from the ERIC database. There’s no PDF or HTML full-text link, so the complete article is not available in this particular database.  Instead you can use the GET IT @ OU Libraries link in the upper right corner to check if the full-text is available from elsewhere in the library collection.

Once you click GET IT, you will be taken to the library record with a link to the full-text article if OU has access to it. Click on the link to view the location of the full-text, or click the direct link for a PDF version (blue boxes).

Clicking on the PDF link will open a new webpage where the PDF can be viewed online and/or downloaded. Click on the download icon to obtain a PDF copy of the article, which should be saved to your device's downloads folder. Be sure to save a copy of the PDF in another location for ease of access.

Not every article is available online. Where you're reviewing the results list in the library catalog, you may see items that would need to be requested from another library (blue box). In that instance, you can make an interlibrary loan request.

You will be prompted to log into the ILLiad system with your institutional credentials. After logging in, you will be able to complete the request form and request your item from another library.

After you click the "Submit Request" button, you can review your request(s) in your account in ILLiad. Any interlibrary loan requests will be listed in the "Outstanding Requests" tab in the left menu.

Interlibrary loan requests often take up to 24-48 hours to fulfill. Once a PDF copy has been made available to you, you will be notified by email that the copy is available for download in ILLiad.

Log into your ILLiad account to download the PDF. Articles that are ready for download will be listed under the "Electronically Requested Articles" tab on the left side of the home screen (red box). To view and download the PDF copy, click on the "View PDF" icon (blue box).
