HOW TO: Downloading Database Content

If you are working in one of OU Libraries' databases or Library OneSearch, you can download database content directly from its catalog record. Explore this guide to find detailed instructions for performing this action in OU's major databases.

ProQuest databases: Downloading database content

For a list of available ProQuest databases, click here.

Navigate to the ProQuest database you'd like to use. You may need to log in with your institutional credentials to access the database.

In this example, we're using Dissertations and Theses.

Enter your search terms and/or keywords into the search bar and select a specific field (if necessary). Click Search.

Review the list of records generated by the catalog in response to your keyword search. If you see an article that you know you want to download, click the Full Text - PDF link to the right of the article's catalog record (red box). If you'd like to review the article first, click on the article's title.

You will be redirected to a new page where an electronic version of the item is displayed. Click on the Download icon to download a copy of the item.

That's it! A PDF copy of the item will be downloaded to your device. Be sure to save the item after the download process is complete.
