Complete the MI ExplOER Certification modules and receive a certificate to demonstrate your OER expertise! 

OU faculty who complete the course (at any time) and schedule a follow-up meeting with the ACMI coordinator will receive a $300 stipend.

*The MI ExplOER course includes eight self-paced online learning modules that serve as an introduction to Open Educational Resources (OER) in Higher Education.  An additional section provides opportunities for further exploration and discovery of OER initiatives in Michigan.

OpenEd Conference (National conference online program)
Oct 8-10, 2024 
An annual convening for sharing and learning about open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education initiatives.

VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE:
Register by September 6 for earlybird discounts:
• $75 General Admission ($100 after Sep 6)
• $25 Student Rate
• Apply for a virtual scholarship

OpenCon Ohio 2024 Conference virtual conference

OpenCon Ohio's theme this year will be Innovation in Open Education. Topics could include AI in Open Education, Student Engagement, Affordable Learning, Open Authoring, Promoting and Authoring of OERs, Publisher and Bookstore Relations, but other topics are welcome.

OER Certification Challenge 2024

OU Libraries has partnered with Mi-ALA OER Interest Group to offer an exciting OER professional development opportunity.

Complete the MI ExplOER Certification modules and receive a certificate to demonstrate your OER expertise! 

Any current faculty and staff at a Michigan college or university who complete the modules before April 1, 2024, are eligible for a drawing to win one of four $100 gift cards. 

Additionally, OU faculty who complete the course (at any time) and schedule a follow-up meeting with the ACMI coordinator will receive a $300 stipend.

If you would like to participate but the registration fee is a barrier for you, the ACMI has funds available to sponsor your registration. Submit an application ASAP. The application is open to all members of the OU community. 

OpenEd23 is coming on Nov 7-9!
Exciting virtual program to immerse in the latest trends in open education, network with other professionals, and contribute to the growing open education field. This international conference will feature Dr. Rajiv Jhangiani, Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning at Brock University in Ontario, Canada as the keynote speaker.  
$75 USD early bird rate (increases on Oct 1)
Student rate and full scholarships available 

MI OER Mini-Conference: Gather, Network, Learn  October 6, 2023 at Wayne State University.
Registration closes on September 20. Register online at MIOER.org

One-day in-person mini-conference aims to bring together OER advocates, users, and policymakers to dive into timely topics, network, and learn from one another. We will discuss topics such as AI, course markings, and other current, notable projects taking place in Michigan.

Registration is $50 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
