HOW TO: Putting Resources Into RefWorks

If you are working in one of OU Libraries' databases or Library OneSearch, you can directly export a resource's information into your account. You can find detailed instructions for each OU Libraries resource in this guide.

Exporting References

Exporting a Single Citation to Legacy RefWorks (orange) OR ProQuest RefWorks (blue):

  1. Conduct your search.
  2. Click on the title of an article for which you wish to export into RefWorks.
  3. On the page that comes up, click on Cite This Item.
  4. In the pop-up box, under Export Citation, select RefWorks.
  5. Log in to RefWorks-- or if you're already logged in, it should open automatically.
  6. Your record will be downloaded automatically and should appear in the Last Imported folder.

Exporting Multiple Citations to Legacy RefWorks (orange) OR ProQuest RefWorks (blue):

  1. Conduct your search and select the records you would like to export.
  2. At the top of the search page, select Export Selected Citations.
  3. In the drown down menu, choose Export to Refworks.
  4. Log in to Refworks-- or if you're already logged in, it should open automatically.
  5. Your record will be downloaded automatically and should appear in the Last Imported folder.
