HOW TO: Putting Resources Into RefWorks

If you are working in one of OU Libraries' databases or Library OneSearch, you can directly export a resource's information into your account. You can find detailed instructions for each OU Libraries resource in this guide.

Change Your Scholar Preferences

  1. Near the top left of the screen, click to reveal the left menu bar and then click on Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the area called Bibliography Manager.
  3. Select Show links to import citations into ...
  4. Select RefWorks from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click Save Preferences near the bottom of the page.

Export Records

  1. Conduct your search in Google Scholar.
  2. Underneath each result you want to keep, click Import into RefWorks.
  3. Select your version of Refworks and log in if you haven't already.
  4. Your record will be downloaded automatically and should appear in the Last Imported folder.
