Using ProQuest RefWorks: A Sequenced Tutorial

RefWorks is a citation management tool that allows users to "collect, manage, organize, and cite your research as well as collaborate with friends and colleagues by sharing collections" of resources (RefWorks, 2016).

ProQuest RefWorks: Account Information

Using ProQuest RefWorks: Getting Information Into Your Account

You have two options for saving information you find in RefWorks. If you are working in one of OU Libraries' databases or Library OneSearch, you can directly export a resource's information -- including a link back to the content -- into your account. You can find detailed instructions for each OU Libraries resource in the collection of tutorials called Putting References into RefWorks and this how-to guide on exporting citations directly to Refworks from Library OneSearch.

The second option for saving resources into RefWorks is to use a tool called Save to RefWorks. This button installs in any web browser, and it grabs information from any web page – in some cases a complete article – and adds it to your RefWorks library.

To add the Save to RefWorks button to your browser, click on the More icon Three dots icon and select Tools.   Simply drag the Save to RefWorks button to your browser.  Once you’ve installed it, go to any web page and click the Save to RefWorks button to capture the information.
