How do I locate a peer-reviewed article with Library OneSearch? How do I locate a peer-reviewed article in a specific database?
If you’re looking for a peer-reviewed article, there are some tools available to assist with your search. Library OneSearch allows users to search what’s available to them through the Kresge Library, and it has an option to filter search results to only include scholarly and peer-reviewed articles.
Go to the library’s home page, enter your keywords in the Library OneSearch box, and click Search.
When your search results page comes up, look up in the filters bar at the top of the results page, and find the "Peer-Reviewed" filter (red box). Click it to turn it on.
The results page should refresh, and will contain only peer-reviewed articles. These will be denoted with the "peer-reviewed" icon (blue boxes).
If you are working within a specific database, you may also have tools available to help you narrow your search: some databases have similar filters. To access these options, use the Advanced Search within your database of choice.
Most EBSCOhost databases have an option to click underneath the search bar:
Some of the ProQuest databases OU subscribe to have one as well:
If you’re still not sure, you can always use the Ulrich’s Serials Directory to check: use the search bar to look for the name of the journal your article is in. If the referee jersey icon appears next to the name of the journal on the results page, the journal is peer-reviewed.
