About OUR@Oakland

OUR@Oakland is Oakland University's institutional repository maintained by the University Libraries. The aim of OUR@Oakland is to collect, organize, and showcase the scholarship, creative work, and archival and special collections created by or affiliated with the Oakland University community. 

Faculty Research

  • Share your research with the entire world via the OUR@Oakland open-access platform indexed by Google and Google Scholar. 
  • Provide full-text access to your published scholarship - linkable and shareable on social media (See submitting section for restrictions.) 
  • Data sharing - Upload corresponding data sets for published articles. 
  • Depositing provides a permanent, fixed URL that won’t change or disappear 
  • Collections can be a single online portal for your scholarly output

Workshops and Conferences

  • Provide public access to conference recordings
  • Share presentation slides and other supporting materials
  • Archive and make publically available events sponsored by Oakland University 

OUR@Oakland doesn’t ask for your copyright; it is just for your permission to distribute your work freely. We’ll also work with you to help you protect your copyright on articles you publish in the future.

Objectives

OU Libraries, in support of the Univesity’s mission, supports equitable access to knowledge by making openly available the scholarship, creative work, and archival and special collections created by or affiliated with the Oakland University community.

By collecting and providing access to the intellectual works produced by, or of high importance to, the Oakland University community, including, but not limited to:

  • faculty scholarship, pre-prints, research datasets, etc.
  • student theses, dissertations, and selected student works

By collecting and providing access to records related to Oakland University Archives and Special Collections, including but not limited to:

  • historical documents 
  • administrative reports and formal departmental documents
  • compilations of University data
  • meeting agendas and minutes from university committees
