UpToDate

This guide explains how to use UpToDate, a point-of-care medical resource.  Use the menu on the left side of this web page to navigate to specific topics.

UpToDate is the premier point-of-care medical resource:

• Answers all of your clinical questions quickly;
• Provides evidence-based content for 25 specialty fields;
• Contains more than 12,000 clinical topics;
• More than 1,500 patient information topics;
• More than 200 medical calculators;
• Provides CME credit;
• Also available through the UpToDate app on your mobile device.

Users must register for a free account in order to access UpToDate through a mobile app or remote access, or to track CME credits.

From an OU computer, go to the Medical Library website - https://medlib.oakland.edu/.  Select UpToDate from the Top Resources in the left column.  Or go directly to https://huaryu.kl.oakland.edu/login?url=https://www.uptodate.com/online.

Select the Register link in the upper right corner.

Fill out the Registration Form and select your User Name and Password.  You will be emailed a Verification Code.  Follow the instructions in the email. 

NOTE:  You will be required to login to UpToDate periodically to reauthorize your account.  You will receive an email reminder.  You can easily do this by logging in using a computer connected to the OU network.
