ASL Coursework at OU

As of Fall 2021, Oakland University offers a minor concentration in communication and deaf studies.

This concentration allows students to explore the culture and methods of communication in the deaf, deafblind, and hard-of-hearing community, and to promote advocacy and awareness for individuals within those communities. The core curriculum includes classes in American Sign Language (ASL), as well as studies in communications. Read about the development of the program on Oakland University News' website.
