Finding Dissertations & Theses

Dissertations and theses are the lengthy papers that people write to complete Masters or Doctoral programs; therefore, dissertations and theses on education-related topics can also be useful as we investigate a concept or idea.

Generally, researchers and scholars use these resources to understand or investigate their topic, but they don't use someone else's graduate work as a source for their own work. Instead, they use the references in a dissertation or thesis to further investigate the published and peer-reviewed scholarship on concepts. 

However, you have to cite a dissertation or thesis if you use that author's ideas in your own work!
