First, all WRT 1060 students need to work through an online learning module.
This module is divided into four parts:
- Understanding information today
- Academic Research and Strategic Searching
- Evaluating Information Sources
- Making Connections and Expanding Your Research
Students who earn a score of 80% or higher on a learning assessment at the end of this module will earn a badge of completion. Find out how to access and share your badges.
Second, students participate in librarian-led instruction (once they've worked through the online instructional module for WRT 1060).
Generally, this instruction will be in the same format as their course (as a pre-recorded video for asynchronous online classes or as a live online / in-person session for classes with scheduled sessions).
As a result of these librarian-led experiences, students will be able to:
- Use a variety of approaches to search for information in intentional, strategic ways
- Find different perspectives on a topic or idea
- Identify strategies to use in determining whether an information source is credible about a certain topic or idea
Please contact your course librarian if you have any questions!
